The Services listed below are typically that of Module Leader. Payment is issued from the University of London to the Module Leader for these Services.

The Module Leader’s responsibilities will include:
Operational duties
- To oversee the running of their allocated module;
- To raise any issues pertaining to Tutor performance to the Online Tutor Network team;
- To lead the Online Tutor induction session for the module;
- To provide dedicated subject area communication (e.g. announcements) to students through tools on the University of London Virtual learning Environment (VLE) throughout the duration of the module;
- To communicate with the student body at key points of the student journey in the module, including a welcome message at the start of the module and preparation messages prior to the dates for the submission of summative assessments;
- To attend 2 x live recruitment sessions before each new session and to lead approximately 2 revision webinars per session;
- To support the Programme Director in initiatives for the enhancement of student support;
- To review the ‘Online Tutor Activity Schedule’ and update if required before the session;
- To map learning outcomes and assessment methods to relevant professional accreditation units, where applicable, and to adhere to requirements for ongoing module review (i.e. annual review of learning outcomes mapping and re-mapping if revalidation occurs).
A Module Leader is expected to perform the following Services:
- To set all assessments which includes (depending on the module) the online exam paper, model answers, practice exam paper or past exam paper and the associated marking guides in accordance with University of London guidelines in liaison with the external examiner;
- To ensure that the first and second markers (“Examiner Team”) receives the examination question(s), marking guidelines, marking timetable and marking sheet at the appropriate time and are familiar with the assessment marking process;
- To lead the Examiner Team for the module and attend internal marking meetings and Board of Examiners;
- To provide a final module review report;
- To contribute/provide the Annual Module Review form;
- To be the Moderator for the module in line with the University of London Assessment Marking Principles which includes producing a short report for the external examiner on the consistency of application of the marking guidelines in the marking of the examination;
- Responsible for reviewing study materials, complete revisions as required;
- and any other duties deemed relevant to this role.
